ALC Press Inc., and GPlus Media Form Strategic Partnership to Further Expand Their Businesses in Japan

TOKYO – Tokyo, Japan December 7, 2009: ALC Press Inc., operator of one of Japan’s largest language learning sites SPACE ALC and GPlus Media which runs the English-language Japan portal GaijinPot, today announced a partnership designed to combine their leading Japanese and English language content and expand the online community around Japan.

The agreement will see both companies developing and managing content for their websites with the opportunity in the future to create an ALC branded job site for those seeking to develop a career in Japan as well as a new online community site for both Japanese and worldwide web users.

Further details of the agreement include:

 

  • • GaijinPot users will have access to and be able to take the Japanese Speaking Skills Test “JSST”, developed by ALC

  • • The development of an ALC-branded job site, advertising job openings that emphasize candidates’ Japanese language ability.

    •  

  • • GPlus Media and ALC will jointly seek to develop Japanese language learning content for GaijinPot users and English language learning content for ALC users.

    •  

  • • GPlus Media and ALC will work towards launching a community site in which GaijinPot and ALC users learning English can interact.

    •  

ALC Inc. and GPlus Media will begin to roll out the initiatives outlined in the agreement from today, with a plan to launch full integration from January 2010.
